There are moments in life when we are looked at… but never truly heard.
I’ve known what that feels like.
To be present in a room, in a friendship, in a relationship, yet somehow feel invisible. To be seen on the surface, while the thoughts, memories and experiences that shaped you remained locked inside.
That feeling stayed with me long after those moments had passed.
It inspired this collection.
Each artwork begins with one of my own photographs of someone who has crossed my path. Friends. Family. Ordinary people with extraordinary lives. Their images are transformed into abstract portraits, but their eyes remain the centre of every piece.
Because eyes rarely tell us everything.
They simply remind us that there is always more.
Behind every gaze is a lifetime of joy, loss, hope, resilience, love, disappointment and quiet victories that most of us will never know.
Perhaps the greatest gift we can offer one another isn’t simply to see people.
It’s to truly hear them.
SEEN is an invitation to pause, to wonder, and to remember that every person we meet is carrying a story.
